Mary Ann Chamberlain Obituary

Mary Ann ChamberlainLinwood, Michigan Mary Ann (Hadd) Chamberlain, Our loving mother, Mary Ann, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on June 30, 2026 at the age of 95. Mary was born on April 4, 1931, in Bay City, Michigan to Cecil and Flora (Bussiere) Hadd and she spent her entire life in the community she loved. She lived on the same road for all 95 years of her life, a testament to her deep roots, her steady presence, and the strong connections she built with family, neighbors, and friends over the decades.

Mary was a loving, spirited, and passionate woman whose life was centered on faith, family, and the simple joys of everyday living. She was a lifelong member of Prince of Peace St. Anne Parish, where she found fellowship and a sense of belonging. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she shared that devotion through her presence in the church choir, where her voice and commitment were appreciated by those who worshiped alongside her.

She also gave generously of her time and energy to the things she cared about. Mary loved animals and was a 4-H leader, sharing her kindness, patience, and encouragement with young people in her community. She had a special gift for making others feel welcome, and she carried that same warmth into every role she held. Whether she was helping others, lending a hand, or simply offering a kind word, Mary left a lasting impression on those around her.

Mary was happiest when she was surrounded by her children and grandchildren, especially during holidays when her home was filled with laughter, conversation, and the comfort of family traditions. She was an avid gardener who found joy in nurturing growing things, and she took pride in the beauty she created with her hands. She was also a gifted storyteller, a creative crafter, and a wonderful baker who passed on recipes for many generations. Her family will long remember the meals, treats, and treasured stories that became part of their shared history because of her.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Chamberlain Jr., and by her three sisters, Dorothy, Lorraine, and Loretta, as well as her infant brother, Michael. She is survived by her brother, Joe; her children, Neil Chamberlain of Linwood, Chris Chamberlain and Nancy of Midland, Susan and Jerd Clayton of Bay City, Cheryl and Mark Johnson of Metamora, Mary Jo and Walt Duranczyk of Auburn, and Mark Chamberlain of Myrtle Beach; as well as her 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.

Mary Ann Chamberlain will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her steadfast faith, and the loving spirit she shared so freely throughout her life. Her legacy lives on in the memories she created, the traditions she passed down, and the many lives she touched with her kindness, passion, and enduring love.
