Michael D. Sisson Obituary

Michael Dennis Sisson, known affectionately as Mike, passed away on July 15, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, and cherished memories that will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.

Mike was born on November 5, 1951, in Bay City, Michigan, to the late Richard and Thelma Nichols Sisson. From an early age, he carried out the values of family, loyalty, and determination that would guide him throughout his life. Those who knew Mike will remember him as a loving, kind man, as well as being a bit of a smart ass.

On May 27, 1972, Mike married the love of his life, Connie Hartwick, at the Standish United Methodist Church. Together they shared 54 wonderful years of marriage filled with devotion, laughter, and a lifetime of memories. Their bond was a beautiful example of true partnership, and the life they built together was centered around family, hard work, and the simple joys of being together.

Mike worked as a carpenter for Bay Wood Homes for numerous years, where he was respected for his skill, dependability, and strong work ethic. He took pride in his work and approached each task with care and craftsmanship. His hands were always busy, and his talent as a carpenter reflected the same patience and attention to detail that he brought to every part of his life.

Outside of work, Mike enjoyed hunting, fishing, making knives out of deer horns, and making homemade pipes. He also enjoyed tinkering with anything in the garage, always finding something to repair, improve, or invent. In his spare time, he made homemade wine and moonshine for everyone to enjoy, and these creations often added to the good times shared with family and friends. Mike had a gift for turning ordinary moments into lasting memories, and his hobbies were often a reflection of his creativity, resourcefulness, and easygoing spirit.

Most of all, Mike loved his family. He adored his grandchildren, and the time they spent together was always treasured. His family meant everything to him, and he found great joy in being surrounded by the people he loved most. Mike is survived by his beloved wife, Connie Sisson; his two sons, Michael Sisson and his wife Darlene, and Todd Sisson and his wife Rebecca; his adored grandchildren, Shawn, Rylee, Kinslee, and Corbin; and two great-grandchildren, Caroline and Raylin. He is also survived by his siblings, Dick Sisson and Debbie Lanczak, and his sister-in-law Kelly Sisson, along with several nieces and nephews who will remember him with love and affection.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Tim Sisson and his sister-in-law Ardie Sisson. Their memories, along with the many years of love and family connection they shared, remain part of the story of Mike's life.

Per Mike's wishes cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home.
