Norbert R. KrawczykLinwood, MichiganNorbert Ronald Krawczyk, affectionately known as "Nibbles" to those who knew him best, passed away after a long illness on March 18, 2026, at the age of 89. Born on April 25, 1936, in Bay City, Michigan, Norbert lived a full life marked by dedication to his family, service to his country, and a passion for the outdoors. Norbert is survived by his devoted wife, Janet; his brother, Fred Krawczyk; sister, Geraldine Welter; and his children and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents Isadore and Helen Krawczyk, brothers Daniel and Robert Krawczyk, sister-in-law, Liz Krawczyk, and brother in-law, Jack Welter.
Norbert met the love of his life sixty-six years ago, Janet Krawczyk (Dukarski) and together they built a family, welcoming their children Jennifer, Mark, Janelle, and Keith. Their family grew to include son-in-law Todd Coe and future son-in-law Richard Davis, cherished grandchildren Stacy (Brad Clarkson), Matthew (Emily Werth), Amber Ouellette, and Jessica and Allison Krawczyk. Norbert was also a proud great-grandfather to Jaxson, Jace, Alivya, Elijah, and Hazel. Before retiring, Norbert had a fulfilling career with General Motors in the skilled trades, where he was respected for his work ethic and camaraderie. He proudly served his country as a fireman aboard the USS Forrestal aircraft carrier with the Mediterranean 6th Fleet. His time in the United States Navy was a significant part of his life and helped shape the man he became. An avid outdoorsman, Norbert could be found hunting or fishing alongside his wife and children. His love for nature extended to his carefully tended vegetable garden, a testament to his patience and nurturing character. Many of the family's fondest memories include four-wheeling adventures with the grandkids, family vacations to national and state parks, and boating and tubing on Lake Huron.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 24th at the Rivertown Funeral Chapel located in Kawkawlin, MI, from 2pm until 7pm. A church visitation will be held on Wednesday March 25th at All Saints -St. James Church from 10am until 11am with a funeral mass to follow at 11am.
Norbert's family would also like to express a heart-felt thank you to both the Emergency Room and Comfort Care teams at MyMichigan Medical Center in Midland, MI. Their kindness, exceptional dedication, and healing touch provided much comfort to Norbert and his family during such a challenging time.
