Peggy Sue LaBean, born on August 24, 1935, in Hickman, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2026, at Kings Nursing Community.
Peggy Sue was a loving, interesting, and spirited woman whose life was marked by devotion to her family, warmth toward others, and a quiet strength that carried her through every season of life. She grew up in Kentucky, where she learned the values of hard work, resilience, and close family ties that remained with her throughout her life. Later, she moved with her family to Canton, Michigan, where she continued to build a life centered on love, connection, and care for those around her. In her later years, she retired to the Roscommon area, where she enjoyed the peace of her surroundings and the company of those she held dear.
On her own journey through life, Peggy Sue married Samuel LaBean in 1950, he preceded her in death in September 1980. Their union was blessed with children and a family legacy that remained a source of pride throughout her life. She is survived by her sons, Terrence LaBean and David LaBean, as well as several grandchildren who brought her great joy. She was preceded in death by her sons Michael LaBean, Larry "Dan" LaBean, and Robert Labean, along with her seven siblings, all of whom held a special place in her heart and memory.
Peggy Sue found happiness in the simple and meaningful things in life. She enjoyed crocheting, creating with her hands in a way that reflected her patience, care, and creativity. She also cherished socializing with friends and family, and she had a gift for making others feel welcome and valued. Private interment was held at Christian Memorial Gardens West in Rochester Hills, Michigan.
