Timothy D. Hooper Obituary
Timothy David Hooper, known to family and friends as Tim, passed away on May 18, 2026, at the age of 70. He was born on December 17, 1955, in Detroit, Michigan, and lived a life marked by hard work, devotion to family, and a genuine kindness that touched everyone who knew him.
On June 4, 1980, Tim married the love of his life, Katherine (Hale) Hooper, and together they built a life grounded in love, partnership, and shared purpose. Their marriage was a lasting example of commitment and devotion. Tim took great pride in the life they made together.
Tim was a proud father to Christy Marie (Nick) Franko, Timothy Justin (Audri) Hooper, and Justin David (Kayla) Hooper. He was a loving grandfather to Timothy Fredrick Hooper, Lilly Jae Hooper, Ian Julian Franko, Isaac David Franko, Ivy Elizabeth Quinn Franko, Eli Logan Hooper, and Ethan James Hooper. His grandchildren brought him great joy, and he treasured the time he spent with them. He also leaves behind his mother-in-law, Beverly Ann Hale, his brother-in-law Frederick Phillip (Janice) Hale, his brother Donald (Pat) Hooper, and his stepbrother Phillip Fitzgerald along with nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by his parents Vincent D. and Nellie Lorean (Elza) Hooper, as well as his brothers Rick and Randy Hooper, and his sister Terry (Hooper) Manzella.
Tim worked for many years as an auto mechanic, serving several auto dealerships with skill and dedication. He also worked as a G.M. Technical Assistant in Flint, where his knowledge and experience were valued by those around him. In addition to his work for others, he owned his own auto repair business, where his reputation for honesty, dependability, and craftsmanship reflected the pride he took in every job he did. He was the kind of man people could count on, and his work ethic left a lasting impression on coworkers, customers, and friends alike.
Beyond his career, Tim was a man who appreciated the simple and meaningful things in life. He loved nature and took great care in maintaining his yard. He also loved classic cars and motorcycles, interests that reflected both his mechanical talent and his appreciation for craftsmanship and tradition. These passions were an extension of the man he was, practical, capable, and deeply connected to the things he loved.
Tim will be remembered as loving, selfless, and friendly. Though his passing leaves a deep void, the legacy Tim leaves behind is one of devotion, hard work, and love. He will be remembered for the life he built, the family he cherished, and the many ways he made the world around him better. His memory will live on in the hearts of his wife, children, grandchildren, extended family, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
