He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Klay and Gertrude Vander Klay; his sister Carol Zuidema; his granddaughter Amber Vander Klay; and his wife Velma Vander Klay.
He is survived by: his children, Beth Bourdo (Jeff), Randy Vander Klay (Donna) and Lisa Knobloch (Dave); his stepchildren, Lori Ross, Dan Covey (Lori) and Lisa Delano (Tim); his siblings, Marilyn Gould and Dale Vander Klay (Jackie); and his sister-in-law Maxine DeJonge. He is also survived by his 17 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren.
