She was predeceased by: her parents, Lawrence Velmer and Irene Velmer (Poupore); her husband Earl LaFernier; her son Kenneth LaFernier; her daughter-in-law Susan LaFernier; and her siblings, Barbara Cline, Melvin, Joseph, Kenneth and James Velmer.
She is survived by: her children, Dale LaFernier of L'Anse, Kristine Lofquist (Mike) of L'Anse, Debra Fuller (Mark) of L'Anse, Robert LaFernier (Janet) of Skanee, Kevin LaFernier of L'Anse and Joe LaFernier of Keweenaw Bay; and her siblings, Bob Velmer (Shirley) of Baraga, Richard Velmer (Donna) of L'Anse, Patsy Velmer of Baraga and Rosemary Heikkinen (Bill) of Elo. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
