She was predeceased by : her parents, Trefflie Forrest and Florence Forrest (Brabant); her former life partner George Holmes; her husband Donald Cartwright; her daughters, Deborah Holmes, Carol Holmes and Susan Holmes; and her half-sister Virginia Lemperle.

She is survived by : her children, Richard Holmes, Sr., David Holmes (Bonnie), Jerald Holmes, Sr. and Sheila Hatch (Gary); her stepchildren, Cindy, Sherrie, Randy and Donald; her grandchildren, Michael, Scott, Vanessa, Crystal Ann, Bernadette, Traci, Richard Jr., Meghann, James, Cathy, Jamie, Carol, Jerry Jr., Crystal Lynn, Kyle, Gabrielle and Landon; and her siblings, Dorothy Whaley, Helen Watts and Fred Forrest. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
