Walter Baggleman Obituary
Walter Baggleman, age 93, of Kingston, MI passed away Sunday, November 26, 2017 at Medilodge of Cass City, MI.
Walter was born July 25, 1924 in Detroit, MI. He served his country in the Navy during World War II. While in the Navy, he met Elizabeth Faye Davis and they married on December 18, 1945 in Chicago, IL. After his honorable discharge from the Navy in 1947, Walter worked as an inspector for Consolidated Gas for many years. He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. Walter operated a farrowing farm and was a skillful handyman. He enjoyed helping people in the community with electrical, gas and plumbing projects, things he fondly referred to as “government jobs”.
Walter is survived by his children, Jean (Daniel) Kempa of Kingston, MI; and Thomas (Sue) Baggleman of Phoenix, AZ; three grandchildren, Wesley (Jennifer) Kempa of Rockford, MI, Sara (Eric Leon) Kempa-Leon of Los Angeles, CA, and Elizabeth Baggleman of Phoenix, AZ; and three great-grandchildren, Martin Kempa, Tyler Kempa and Savannah Kempa.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Elizabeth Faye (Davis) Baggleman on August 20, 2000, and three siblings, Lena Littman, Louie Baggleman and Rose Kohn.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 PM on Friday, December 15, 2017 at Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette, MI and from 10 AM until the time of service on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Our Savior Lutheran Church.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Marlette, MI with Pastors Eric Kilmer and David Sutton officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Compassus Hospice, Our Savior Lutheran Church or Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center.
