He was predeceased by : his parent Ernest Strong; his sons, Jerry and Doug Strong; and his grandsons, Josiah and Jacob.

He is survived by : his wife Lois Moore; his children, Woody Strong, Mike Hagen (Rosemary), Chuck Hagen (Betty), Craig Strong, Kathy Chase (Mike), Christi Kalbfleisch, Penny Sue Hemmi and Lisa Benjamin (Scott); his brother Johnny "Sellers" Strong (Caroline); and his daughter-in-law Jan Strong. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Families Discretionary Fund in care of Lois Strong.
