He was predeceased by: his wife Louise; his son Daniel; his brothers, Kenneth Flitz (Karyn) and Edward Flitz (Shirley); and his brother-in-law Ben Meyer (Pat).
He is survived by: his daughters, Linda Liethen (Philip) of Fort Gratiot, MI and Julie Maeder of Macomb, MI; his grandchildren, Caroline Liethen of Lansing, MI, Kurt Liethen (Yuliya Malayev) of West Bloomfield, MI, Jack Carder of Macomb, MI and Chris Carder of Rumford; and his great grandchildren, Levi and Mara Liethen of West Bloomfield, MI. He is also survived by sister.
