She was predeceased by: her parents, Alvin Spitz and Eliza Spitz (Verville); her husband Lloyd V. Short; and her siblings, Willard Spitz, Genevieve Milde and Lawrence "Babe" Spitz.

She is survived by: her children, David Short of Lake Linden, Diane Baril (David) of Lake Linden, Bill Short (Rita) of Marquette, Barbara Radeka (Michael) of Lake Linden, Dan Short (Mary Kay) of Kingsford and Elizabeth Forget (Robert) of Oregon, WI; her grandchildren, Kristine Daavettila (Nick), Jeff Baril (Kiira), Heather Pear, Rachel Pear, Andrew Short (Amanda), Eliza Short (Steven Petritis), Nick Radeka (Kimmy), Ben Radeka (Anna Mills), Steve Short (Gretchen), Sara Lessard (Stephen), Tyler Forget (Rachel) and Tristyn Vruwink (Aaron); and her great grandchildren, Isaac, Joshua Daavettila, Alivia, Brennan Baril, Lilah Short, Rowan, Max, Xavier Pear, Kennedy, Grayson Radeka, Lillian, Noah Short and Noelle Lessard.
