He was predeceased by: his parents, Michael Smith and Helene Smith of Ionia, Michigan.; his brother Mark Smith; his former wife Michelle Lewis; and his children, Timothy Michael Smith and Jessica Leigh Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Julie Smith; and his daughter Jodi Lynn Smith. He is also survived by seven sisters; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Koops Funeral Chapel (935 4th Ave, Lake Odessa, MI 48849). A rosary will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at 7:30 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St Edwards Church (531 Washington Blvd, Lake Odessa, MI 48849).
