He was predeceased by: his father Clyde M. Burris. He is survived by: his mother Shirley J. Burris (Munn); his wife Barb Burris; his children, Randy Westerfield (Monica) and Melissa Eveland (Mike); and his siblings, Terry Burris (Belle), Peggy Rath (Dave), Nan Emmert and Michelle Wilson (Brent). He is also survived by two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
