He was predeceased by : his brother Lorenzo Jr.; his grandson Parker Valencia; and his siblings-in-law, Lester Hoffman, William Parent and Sandy Bublitz.

He is survived by : his parents, Lorenzo Valencia and Emeline Valencia (Beck); his wife Judy; his sons, Richard David Valencia Jr. (Katherine Visser), Justin Niles Valencia (Laura Katherine) and Bryan William Valencia (Kimberly); his grandchildren, Mason, Kyle, Samuel, Blake, Brett and Liliana Valencia; his siblings, Linda Hoffman, Darla Schroeder, Mary Alice Valencia, Lisa Valencia and Anthony Valencia; and his in-laws, George, Paula Parent, Beverly and Jeff Conell.
