He is survived by: his wife Barbara Soper; his sons, Mark, Matthew and Brent; his granddaughters, Willa and Hazel; his siblings, Ron, Joe (Annie), Joy, Marge, Valerie, Adele (Mike), Lola (Rick), Jeanne (Jim) and Vickie (John); and his sister-in-law Suz.
Visitation was held on Thursday, May 21st 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Janowicz Family Funeral Home (9977 W Howard City-Edmore, Lakeview, MI 48850). A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 21st 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Thursday, May 21st 2026 at 2:30 PM at the Day Township Cemetery. A celebration of life was held on Thursday, May 21st 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Stanton Frost Sda Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Stanton Frost SDA Church in honor of Sonny's passion for Christian education.
