With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Leah Joyce Schonmeier in Lakeview, Michigan, who passed away on May 14, 2026 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Leah may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Leah touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Floyd Shaffer and Susie Shaffer (Boyer) of Turner, Michigan.; her husband Harold Schonmeier Sr. of AuGres; her daughter Lori Schonmeier; and her siblings, Erma and Floyd.
She is survived by: her son Harold Schonmeier Jr. (Jeannie); and her daughter-in-law Jeannie Schonmeier Jr.. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in Leah's name.
