Gary D. Bishop Obituary

He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Bishop and Helmi Bishop (Mattila); his siblings, James, Ronald Bishop, Judy Reed (Bishop) and Rita Mukka (Bishop); his niece Katherine Nankervis; and his son-in-law Rick Henderson.
He is survived by: his wife Colleen Bishop (McIntyre); his sisters, Patricia Nankervis (Chuckie) and Elizabeth McDermott (Babe); his son Timothy Bishop (Caren); his grandchildren, Kayla, Amanda, Danielle, Cassandra, Brandon, Jeremy, Erin and Corrine; his daughter Heather Henderson (Bishop); his grandchildren, Jarren, Seth, Riley and Caleb; his son Jason Bishop (Hannah); and his grandchildren, Justin, Jordan, Alyssa, Zachary, Katelyn and Luke. He is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 21st 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (16 6th St, L'Anse, MI 49946-1497). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, May 21st 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, May 21st 2026 from 12:15 PM to 12:30 PM at the Evergreen Cemetery (490 Winter St, L'Anse, MI 49946).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in Gary's honor to be directed to Sacred Heart Catholic School, 433 Baraga Avenue, L'Anse, MI 49946.
