He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Velmer and Irene Velmer (Poupore); his wife Donna; and his siblings, Melvin, Kenneth, Carol LaFernier, Barbara Kline, Joseph, James and Robert.
He is survived by: his children, Joe Schultz of Jackson Hole, WY, Julie Schultz of L'Anse and Angie Crandall (Le) of Quinnesec; his sisters, Patsy Velmer of Baraga and Rosemary Heikkinen (Bill) of Tapiola; his grandchildren, Anthony Crandall, Bryce, Makenna and Madelyn Crawford; and his great grandchild Amelia Velmer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
