It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Alan Bernard Platt (Lansing, Michigan), who passed away on September 24, 2025, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though Alan may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Alan touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard Platt and Helen Platt (Sczepanski). He is survived by: his siblings, Ruthann Platt and Norman Platt (Connie); his nephews, Daniel and Michael Platt; his great-niece Winter; his close friend Mary Chaliman; and his friend Joyce Tunnard. He is also survived by her daughters and 5 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the St. Gerard Catholic Church (4437 W Willow Hwy, Lansing, MI 48917). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location.
