He was predeceased by: his parents, James Kaake and Wanda Kaake (Conklin); his wife Diane Conklin; his adoptive parents, Wayne Conklin and Frances Conklin; and his siblings, Larry Conklin, Gary Conklin and Peggy Conklin-Tisbrow.
He is survived by: his son Jeston Ripley; his grandchildren, Layla Ripley and Liam Ripley; his sisters, Ann Starring (Larry), Laura Schultz (David), Brenda Anzueto, Kathy Schlubatis (Mike) and Carla Moore (Richard); and his stepmother Barbara Kaake. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Skinner Funeral Home - Lansing Chapel (101 W Jolly Rd, Lansing, MI 48910). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
