She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles E. Freeman and Evelyn Freeman (Robinson); her grandparents, Charles and Clara Robinson; her stepfather Ralph Smart; her daughter Katelyn Jane Peach; her half-sister Jane Smart; and her in-laws, Harold H., Ingrid Wiitala (Suksi) and Elaine Anuta.
She is survived by: her husband Harold W. Wiitala; her children, Karen of Tacoma, WA, Howard of Moyock, NC, Craig (Carmen) of Virginia Beach, VA, Claire Wiltsie (Scott) of Monroe, NC and Matt (Sheila) of Lansing; her son-in-law Jim Peach of Sault Ste; her brother-in-law Michael J. Anuta; and her nieces and nephews, Kirsti Taipale (Ahvo) of St. Paul, MN and Michael A. Anuta (Jean) of Marinette. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and a step-grandchild, and six great-grandchildren.
