He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Schulte and Barbara Schulte; his sister-in-law Tiffani Schulte; his wife Judy; his stepdaughter Megan; and his siblings, Lawrence Schulte (Dawn), Rick Schulte (Julie) and Sandy Mitchell (Kevin).

As a member of the Knights of Columbus, he exemplified their principles of charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism.
