He was predeceased by: his parents, Dee George Coppens and Olive Sarah Sprague; his wife Alice Bernice Coppens; his brother Richard Alan Coppens; and his children, Sheryl Lynn Buntin and Scott Patrick Coppens.
He is survived by: his children, Dean Michael Coppens and Denise Marie Lehmann; his son-in-law Kevin Buntin; his grandchildren, Heather Aline Fermaint and David Dee Coppens; and his siblings, Julie Anne Nixon and Patrick John Coppens. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the St Gerard Catholic Church (4437 W Willow Hwy, Lansing, MI 48917). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 at 1:30 PM at the St. Gerard Catholic Church (4437 W Willow Hwy, Lansing, MI 48917).
