She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy Horton and Bessie Horton; her husband Mailand Athy; her son Doug Athy; her daughters-in-law, Peg Athy and Leslie Athy; her grandson Christopher Hackney; and her siblings, Harold Horton, Howard Horton, George Horton, Alice Hickey and Norma Hall.

She is survived by: her children, Brian Athy, Pam Hackney, Teresa Spencer (Ed), Rick Athy (Debbie) and Bob Athy; and her grandchildren, John Athy, Tim Athy, Jeremy Athy, Nikki Athy, Josh Hackney, Jake Hackney, Jessica Hackney, Kristin Neubauer, Brandon Spencer, Courtney Trudell, Brandee Lindner, Samantha Athy, Allison Liebengood and Lindsey Castillo. She is also survived by 28 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
