He was predeceased by: his parents, Josephine Wharton-Ferguson and Rollin Ferguson; and his brothers, Brian and Christian Ferguson. He is survived by: his significant other Anna Strong-Ferguson; his children, Dori, Barry, Jennifer (Christopher), David Sr. (Danielle) and Stacia; his grandchildren, Conrad of Kobe, DJ and Terryn; his sibling's children, Quinn, Lilton Montgomery and Tiffany Pruitt (Darryll); his brother Gregory Eaton; his cousins, Cynthia Long (Larry) and Jerry Wilson (Lisa); his sisters-in-law, Sandy Strong, Betty Siders, Halia Paynes, Karla Strong and Joy Ferguson; his friends, Joe Garza, Pete, Paula Cunningham, Melanie Foster, Ernie, Phyllis Green, Linda Sims, Tina Miller and Ryan Berends; and his daughter Erma Jean Ferguson (Townsley).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made out to the Boys and Girls Club of Lansing in memory of Joel Ferguson.
