We are sad to announce that, on March 3, 2026, at the age of 80, Sanford Ames (Lansing, Michigan) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Erwin Ames and Betty Lou Nicholas; his stepfather George Nicholas; his brother Paul Ames; and his nephew Ashley Ames.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra; his children, Jeffery Ames (Carrie O'Brien-Ames) and Carrie Byington (Jason Free); his siblings, Sandra Pratt-Ahern (James Ahern) and Michael Nicholas; and his grandchildren, Whitney, Anthony, Lauren Byington, Collin, Mitchell and Carson O'Brien.
In lieu of flowers, people may make donations to the charities of their choice in memory of Sanford.
