He was predeceased by: his parents, Betty Lou Keeper and Howard Francis Ward; and his niece Kristin Provoast of West Branch, Michigan.. He is survived by: his wife Kathy of Eaton Rapids; his children, Amanda of Lansing and Michael (Autumn) of Holt; his stepchildren, Mallory Gruhn of Lansing, Michael Gruhn (Janela) of Austin and Elijah Gruhn of Seattle, Washington.; his grandchildren, Korine Brady (Andrew), Sawyer, Savannah, Madelyn Gruhn and Bennett Gruhn; and his siblings, Jodi Schmitz (Bob), Jim "Jimbo" (Dawn), Christopher (Stacy) and Matthew (Becky). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews—and even more "children".
