He was predeceased by: his parents, Warren Outland and Vivian Outland; his adoptive father Clyde Wheeland; his wife Janice Lucille Grousta; his birth father Warren Outland; Clyde and Vivian Wheeland.
He is survived by: his children, David Wheeland (Susan) of Lapeer, Randall Wheeland (Minsun) of Plano and Jennifer Wheeland of Lapeer; and his grandson Justin. He is also survived by three great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Muir Brothers Funeral Home (1021 S Lapeer Rd, Lapeer, MI 48446). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
