She was predeceased by: her parents, Ray Ferrington and Maxine Ferrington (Roat); her husband George W. Shorkey Jr.; her daughter Cindy Haviland; and her grandson Michael Sutherland.
She is survived by: her children, Charlene Palmer, Marilyn Rykulski (Edward) and Leo Sutherland (Cyndi Raible). She is also survived by 5 step-children; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, many other loving family members and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Allen Funeral Home (9136 Davison Rd, Davison, MI 48423). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Richfield Union Cemetery (4273 N Irish Rd, Davison, MI 48423).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, in Janet's memory.
