It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan Frances Skwirsk of Lapeer, Michigan, born in New Orleans, Louisiana, who passed away on January 11, 2021, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Burke and Phyllis Burke (Bellman); and her siblings, Catherine Edwards, Alice Pritchard, Isabelle O'Connor, Littie Lee Baum, Patricia Leidenheimer, Edna Otis, Phyllis Sevilla, Viola Burke, Geraldine Burke Koldys and James Burke.

She is survived by: her former husband James T. Swkirsk; her husband Jim Skwirsk; her children, Joansie Lyle (Jeff) of Roscommon, Scottie Skwirsk of Flint, John Skwirsk (Susan) of Grand Blanc, Jennifer Shores (Steve) of Lapeer and Chris Skwirsk of Lapeer; her grandchildren, Jesica, Wade, Jeffrey, Maxwell, Lucas, Alexander and Gabriel; her great grandchildren, Nasyla, Maddox and Alice; and her sister Carol Brenan of New Orleans. She is also survived by nieces & nephews and many beloved extended family.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions only 25 people are allowed in the funeral home at one time.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Food Pantry at Immaculate Conception Church or the American Cancer Society.
