With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Lewis Allen Smith of Lapeer, Michigan, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 3, 2026 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Allen Smith and Leta Smith (Severn); his brother Dr. Robert Smith; and his former wife Suzanne Tyler. He is survived by: his wife Fonnie Smith (Brewer); his children, Cynthia Dziengel of Clarkston, Bryan Smith (Vanessa) of Charlevoix and Beth Darga (Mike) of Lapeer; his grandchild Jordan; his children, Alina, Emma, Tyler, Cooper, Kyle (Hannah), Ben (Lexi) and Owen; his great grandchild Eli; his grandchildren, Barrett and Hallie; his siblings, Sharon Vandam and James Smith (Madeline); and his sister-in-law Marie Smith.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
