She was predeceased by: her parents, Olin Barnes and Markese Barnes; and her siblings, Carol Maloney and James Barnes. She is survived by: her husband Walter Straksys; her sons, Walter Straksys Jr. (Kimberly), Michael Straksys and Daniel Straksys; and her sister Marlene Barnes.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Voran Funeral Home - Allen Park Chapel (5900 Allen Rd, Allen Park, MI 48101). A rosary was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 6:00 PM at the Allen Park Chapel of Voran Funeral Home (5900 Allen Rd, Allen Park, MI 48101). A Mass was held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church (1721 Junction Ave, Detroit, MI 48209). A reception was held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM at 3457 Bagley St, Detroit, MI 48216. A burial was held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Hedwig Cemetery (23755 Military Rd, Dearborn Heights, MI 48127).
