He is survived by: his wife Donna Rose Nichols; his children, Matthew Eckman (Mei-Ling) of Wilmington, Delaware, Melinda Clark (Jason) of Lancaster, PA, Benjamin Eckman (Elizabeth) of Raleigh, NC, Elizabeth Lovelace (Christopher) of River Rouge, MI and Samuel Eckman (Sheona) of Lincoln Park, MI; his grandchildren, Andrea (Evan), Jared (Risa), Micah (Aleesa), Breanne, Elianna, Bryce, Bryan, Alex, Casiah, Ivan, Sofia, Ian, Ezra, Virginia and Silas; his great grandchildren, Asa, Jaxon and Paxton; his siblings, William Eckman (Valerie), David Eckman (Carol), Robert Eckman (Kathy), Margaret and Samuel; and his grandson Max Lovelace. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to a memorial fund to provide for the care for his widow, in care of Resurrection Church (payable to Donna Eckman, c/o Resurrection Church, 2071 Porter Avenue, Lincoln Park, MI 48146).
