He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilborn Wright and Florence Halloway; his siblings, Hazel "Susie", Cletus "Andy", Jack (Alice), Mary Lou, Patricia and Dorothie; his wife Joan; and also Dorothy Wright.

He is survived by: his brother John "Dugger" Wright; his friends, Pat Bussell, Doc and Dorothy; and his children, Marsha James (Earl), April Martek (Greg), Kimberley Brooks (David), Jeffrey Pruce, Carson "Gene" Bussell (Lisa), Robert Bussell (Katherine), Patrick Bussell (late Barbara) and Nicholas Bussell (Carla).
