He was predeceased by : his parents, Howard Ritchie and Grace Ritchie (Anderson); and his sister Sue Hale. He is survived by : his wife Sandy Messina; his children, Kelli Ritchie of Alpena and Scott Ritchie (Kim) of Lincoln; his grandsons, Aaron Ritchie (Kirsten) and Brandon Ritchie (Amina); his great grandchildren, Ellery and Grayson Ritchie; and his sister Janice LaFave. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice Compassus, Alpena, the United Methodist Church, Lincoln, or to the Michigan Parkinson's Foundation.
