Though Jaimi may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Jaimi touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She is survived by: her parents, Beverlee Smaka (Bant) and Stephen Smaka; her husband Grant Hegenauer; her children, Jillian Hegenauer and Aiden Hegenauer; her brother Jeffrey Smaka; and her nephews, Cole and Clay Smaka.
In lieu of flowers, the family would love if people would donate in Jaimi's memory to one of the following causes that represent her. A scholarship fund that will be set up for students through Grand Blanc Community Schools, Sarcoma Foundation of America (curesarcoma.org) or Allies for Greyhounds (alliesforgreyhounds.org).
