He was predeceased by: his parents, Nelson B. Purdy and Margaret Purdy (Lambright); his sister Jari O'Hara; and his granddaughter Molly McNew. He is survived by: his wife Pamela Gail (Smith-Wilmer); his daughters, Melissa Ramer (David) of Atlanta and Margaret "Maggie" Batts (Cecil) of Cape Coral; his stepchildren, Kelly McNew (Arthur) of New Port, Kristine Kuhl (Christopher) of Hanover, John Wilmer (Christel) of Hillsdale and Joseph Wilmer (Vicki) of Hudson; his sister Karen Schwartz-Baker (Christopher) of Solomons, Maryland; and his brother-in-law Gary O'Hara of Augusta. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
