Gene Syverson Obituary

We are sad to announce that on October 3, 2025, at the age of 94, Gene Syverson of Livonia, Michigan passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Myron Syverson and Gilma Syverson; his wife Marilyn Stribbell; his siblings, Patricia, Maurice, Barbara, James and JoEllen; and his siblings' children, Kelly, Jeff, Joleen, Carol and Trudy.

He is survived by: his sons, Eric (Colleen), John and Matt (Lisa); his grandchildren, Gabe, Ben, Clover, Anna, Samantha, Jack and Tricia; and his siblings, Karen and Kent (Jan).

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Thayer-Rock Funeral Home (33603 Grand River Ave, Farmington, MI 48335). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Gerald Catholic Church (21300 Farmington Rd, Farmington, MI 48336).

Memorial contributions may be made in Gene's name to DRMM (Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries), one of his favorite charities.
