He is survived by: his wife Josephine "Joie" Whitmore; his children, Scott Whitmore and Stephanie Sherman (Bryan); his grandchildren, Trevor Sherman (Quinne), Lucas Sherman (Griffin) and Carter Sherman; his brother Rick Whitmore (Kathy); and his sister-in-law Joyce Avery. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, August 20th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Roth-Gerst Funeral Home (305 N Hudson St SE, Lowell, MI 49331). A funeral service was held on Friday, August 21st 2026 at 11:30 AM at the St. Matthew Lutheran Church (5125 Cascade Rd SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546).
