He was predeceased by: his parents, John Sr. Griffioen and Elizabeth Griffioen; his son-in-law Phil VanHarn; his great grandchildren, Benjamin Klooster and Ryder Sutter; his brothers, Arie and Perry Griffioen; and his sisters-in-law, Kathy Korhorn and Mary Griffioen.
He is survived by: his wife Sue Griffioen; his children, David Griffioen (Lori), Cheryl Duram (Eric), Lisa VanHarn-Vail (Fred) and Jon Griffioen (Kim); his siblings, Harold Griffioen (Pam), Wayne Griffioen (Jan) and Lois Postma (Jake); and his sister-in-law Wanda Griffioen. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
