He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Smith and Gertrude Smith; his wife Mary Smith (Brown); and his daughter Lisa Smith Verastegui. He is survived by: his children, John D. Smith (Kay), Dana Smith, Joseph Smith (Vika) and Valerie Young (Shane); his grandchildren, Mary Smith (Nick), Travis Verastegui and Veronica Smith; and his great grandchildren, Naomi Smith, Adrianna Smith, Detroit Ceal and Solomon Reid.
