We announce the death of Barbara Van Jareo (Ludington, Michigan), who passed away on September 27, 2026, at the age of 83. Barbara will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Barbara will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Barbara will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture her life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Barbara’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Elsie Halverson and Gordon Halverson. She is survived by: her husband Roger Cross Jareo; her children, Jeffery Jareo (Lisa), Jeri Butler (Jack) and Jon Jareo (Melody); and her sisters, Shirley Graw (Jerry) and Judy Horringa. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, King-Hart Chapel (2370 N 72nd Ave, Hart, MI 49420). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at the Lakeview Cemetery.
