“So very sorry to hear of Rod's passing. We had so many great times together. I remember especially Mickey Owen Baseball Camp, American Legion Ball (Rod laying on the motel floor trying to get his back in line), & playing for the Muskegon Civics/Pepsi. One day at Valley Field in GR, I made a throwing error to cost us the game, and on the ride home Rod took on the job of consoling me. In basketball, he wanted to be a Ricky's Raider, but he was way too good to be one! In football, it was Jess Beckman's & my job to open a hole for him (my favorite play) left half at 2 trap. Like Dale and Butch before Rod, the memories are so vivid & fond, but painful at this time. RIP”
