She is survived by: her husband Edward Schmitt; her granddaughter Madelynn Margaret Tschiggfrey; her daughters, Ann Schmitt, Vicki Lewis (Rich) and Susan Tschiggfrey (Frank); and her grandchildren, Andrew, Steven, Amanda and Justin. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Karen's memory to St. John's Lutheran Church, Marion Springs.
