He is survived by: his wife Julia Zyla; his children, Christine Gurin (John), Gene Martin Zyla, Michele Desenfants (Alan) and Gerry Zyla (Lisa); his grandchildren, David Reling (Daniella), Jacqueline Morian (Brian), Matthew Gurin (Lauren), James Gurin, Mackenzie Zyla (Nick), Alyssa Desenfants, Kayla Staunton (Brendan), Alivia Desenfants (Tyler) and Zach Zyla (Ally); his great grandchildren, Vincent, Joseph, Julia Reling, Liliana and Sophia Morian; and his siblings, Harry Garbarino (Alana), Edith Artman (Mike) and Barbara Dempsey (Michael). He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Gene's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
