He was predeceased by: his parents, James Ellis and Amy; his daughter Sandra Peltier; and his brother Emerson Baxendale. He is survived by: his wife Alberta Thornberry; his children, Terry Baxendale (Lynn), Craig Baxendale (Sharon) and Tracy Bojarczyk (Paul); and his son-in-law Butch Peltier. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
