He was predeceased by: his wife Dianne (Dianne VanMarter); and his parents, Merle D. VanMarter and Mary VanMarter (McGuire). He is survived by: his children, William VanMarter (Debborah) and Lisa Gilliam (VanMarter); his grandchildren, Jenna Yingling (VanMarter), Garrett W. VanMarter and Shelby Duval (Gilliam); his sister Cheryl Bucchi (VanMarter); his sister-in-law Rosalee VanMarter (Robert); and his stepsister Gail Nemic (Arnold). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Faith Macomb Church (56370 Fairchild Rd, Macomb, MI 48042). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. The inurnment will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at 1:30 PM at the Great Lakes National Cemetery.
