He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard C. Cushing and Irene Powell Cushing; his sister Linda McTighe (John Ladas); and his niece Erika Ladas. He is survived by: his former spouse Lisbeth C. Church; his wife Beth; his sister Carol (Gary); his brother-in-law Chuck; his nieces and nephews, Kim Rettinger (Fred), Scott Corneille (Marianna), Michelle Westrick (Jim), Kevin McTighe (Nikki), Branwen Spragg (William Massey), Melissa McTighe (Jack), Nathen McTighe (Heather) and Amber Gasiewski John (Anthony); and his sister-in-law Kathy Ladas.

Donations if chosen by anyone should be sent in his name to the Michigan humane society as he and his family all love dogs.
