John Michael Clair Obituary
John Michael Clair a.k.a. Mike or Johnny Michael, died October 9, 2021 at 81 years old after a long fight with colon cancer. John was born on June 6th, 1940 in Elbert, West Virginia to the late Mary Vincent.
He was a beloved husband of the late Diane. He is survived by his only daughter and caregiver Heather Joy who treasured him dearly. John was a loving Uncle (from his dear late sister Jean) to the Carr family who loved him very much.
He resided in Sterling Heights, Mi for the last 14 years. John worked for the 'Big Three' driving a hi-lo for most of his life. He was forced into early retirement, but he couldn't sit still.
He continued working at a car dealership well into his late 70's detailing vehicles. He always loved wrenching on cars and could fix just about anything around the house. John loved classic cars and attended many shows just to admire them.
He was also an amazing cook and created his own recipes right out of his own mind. Everyone always talked about how good of a cook he was. John was very proud of his daughter and did everything he could to show her.
He diligently attended all of her extra school activities, even with working 50 to 60+ hour work weeks just to make ends meet. If you needed a hand, John was your man. He was a unique man with a heart of gold, but could have a snarky playful attitude just about anything.
It was hard not to smile around him. Helping people came naturally to him and he never liked seeing anyone struggle even if he was struggling himself. John loved sports, especially the Detroit Tigers.
He also loved the weather and had a green thumb. He was a man of many hobbies, but the love for his daughter was always his top priority. John loved life to the fullest and never carried anything on his shoulders.
He will be missed by many people. Anytime he went out someone always walked up to him to say hello. He was very well known.
Visitation is Friday from 3-9pm with Funeral Service at 11:30am on Saturday at Wujek - Calcaterra & Sons Inc., 36900 Schoenherr Rd at Metro Parkway (16 Mile). Memorial contributions are appreciated to his daughter Heather Clair.
